Be sure to choose the "View Interactive Webcast" links, because they not only include the video but also the slide presentations.
http://media.omediaweb.com/rsa2008/keynote_catalog.htm

Here are some interesting facts I've gathered from what I've listened to so far:

We have reached an inflection point. There is more malicious software being created everyday than good software. 65% of unique software programs delivered to users were malicious.

Identity theft: during the last two months of 2007, almost 50 million people across the globe had their identities exposed; 3 lost identities every second.

Business Sectors: Of the data breaches, the government sector accounted for 20% of the overall data breaches. Note that this 20% accounted for over "60%" of the identities exposed.

The vast majority of identity theft is actually committed with data that is not collected online. It's either dumpster-diving, robbing the mailbox, etc.

Worldwide: There are 4 babies born every second. There are 25 cell phones sold every second. There are 40 million new wireless, telephone subscribers signed-up for cell phone every month.

Kelly Softwarehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13160596300127973944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330564370670669881.post-82417880191001361572008-06-12T09:46:00.002-05:002008-06-12T09:46:54.384-05:00Shape-shifting BMW
Very cool video - even if you're not a BMW fan.

Kelly Softwarehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13160596300127973944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330564370670669881.post-23214421716635482622008-06-10T05:24:00.000-05:002008-06-10T11:29:36.107-05:00Lost camera caught thievesLost cameras "phone home" to catch thieves - A New Yorker was visiting Florida and accidentally lost her camera. I used to send this out via e-mail but now I plan to use a blog to handle them. It's easy and free to sign-up to receive my "Points to Ponder" via e-mail. Just click the link below and look for the "subscribe" box.

History:
For about 20 years, I sent daily "Points to Ponder" which were usually short, simple quotes - either motivational, humorous, serious or thought-provoking messages via e-mail each day. I'd like to try this again, if I can get enough interest. So please forward this e-mail to anyone who might be interested. Thanks!

Click here to subscribe via e-mail:
www.KellysPoint.comKelly Softwarehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13160596300127973944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330564370670669881.post-71131175491257566012008-02-13T17:53:00.000-06:002008-02-13T17:54:50.709-06:00Pay it forward...Tornadoes cut a swath of destruction that resulted in an estimated 59 deaths from Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee, and injured hundreds more. The Red Cross immediately mobilized volunteers and supplies, provided shelter, fed victims, provided emergency workers and lended emotional support. If you have a lot of software on your computer, how do you easily find and start the programs? Are you always waiting for the Start menu to load and then spending too much time looking for that program name?

I've had this ever-growing issue for some time. There are many quick-launcher programs out there, but where's one that's really easy to use, painless to install, and easy on your system? I've found a great solution by Josh Karlin. It's called Launchy. You can read more and download it here: www.launchy.net

What is Launchy? It's an EASY way to open files, folders, programs and websites. It easily and quickly finds the programs for you. It's an easy install. You just launch it by hitting your ALT+spacebar. For example, to run FireFox, I just typed F, and it guessed FireFox first, and then I just hit enter. :)
There are far too many options and features to list here...BUT you may ask, so how much is this program?? It's FREE! :)

Check it out....it'll save you a ton of time. And it's fun & easy to use.Kelly Softwarehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13160596300127973944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3330564370670669881.post-65160817664742315702007-07-22T01:00:00.001-05:002007-07-22T01:05:07.772-05:00new software - ksTaskbarI've developed a new program called "ksTaskbar"! This is a program for those of us who would like to have a clean desktop (few or no icons) and EASY access to our favorite short-cuts, programs, files, etc. It's a taskbar that you can move around and customize...and it's currently free! :)

I developed this for my own use and thought I would share it.
Click here for more info or to download.

I welcome feedback!
