Software updates: Wallpap1 and Contact1

I have two new updates:

  • Wallpap1 updated - minor fix for shutdown. Download here

  • Contact1 BETA available for testing - I've redesigned Contact1 to give it a better look and I've added a few fields to the database. Click here to download the Beta version. If you're an existing user, please backup your current Contact1 folder before installing the Beta version. I've also changed it to "donation-ware".

Thanks!

Google 'suggests'...

I noticed this morning that Google has implemented their 'Suggest' feature on their main search. Just go to the main Google search page and start typing. You'll see suggested terms and search result counts. Cool.

  • It remembers the last directory used for wallpaper images.

  • Improvements to the interface.

  • Still FREE. :)

Seinfled and Microsoft?

Microsoft is still being very secretive about its new $300 million advertising campaign that it plans to unleash shortly, but Seinfeld will play a key role in it, the Wall Street Journal has learned. He apparently will appear in commercials alongside the recently retired (but apparently not-so-retired) Bill Gates. And he’ll supposedly earn $10 million for his troubles. Read full story

IconHider

I've been getting some great press about my IconHider program, but recently some of the Anti-Virus programs are falsely labeling it as having a trojan or virus. NOT TRUE!

False alerts from Anti-virus programs: There are NO trojans and NO viruses in this program! For some reason, some of the anti-virus programs are falsely identifying this program as having a trojan or something detrimental. NOT TRUE! The reason this is happening, is severe lack of intelligence from the developers of these antivirus programs. IconHider is simply making low-level Microsoft API calls to do the functions it needs to do - such as hide the desktop icons, start the screensaver, etc, etc. So if you get these FALSE alerts from your antivirus program, simply tell it to ignore IconHider.exe in the preference settings of the antivirus program. All antivirus programs will allow you to specify programs that you KNOW are SAFE, which includes IconHider.

It's an awesome, small utility - learn more about it here:

Delfly Micro

Too cool - Looks like a semi-transparent dragonfly, weighing less than 1 oz., able to buzz though the air at 10mph while the transmitter beams TV-quality images back to a base station a few hundred feet away. More info.
